We thank you all for your patience and interest, and we are pleased to announce that registration for SOMA LIII has opened since 12:01 AM on December 5th, 2025. If you are a faculty advisor for a school delegation, please read through this page for relevant information and use the form linked at the end to register. If you are a parent or a student who cannot register with a delegation, please head to the website subpage titled “Independent Registration” to register. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

This year’s Southern Ontario Model United Nations Assembly will take place from April 27 to April 28, 2026. It will be a fully in-person event, with all committees hosted across buildings at the University of Toronto St. George Campus. 

Over the years, SOMA has established itself as one of North America’s most prestigious secondary-school-level conferences; it is the oldest high-school-run MUN conference in the world, annually attracting over 600 delegates from across North America. SOMA strives to deliver the values of the United Nations: diplomacy, cooperation, and peaceful problem-solving achieved through compromise and discussion. The Secretariat is dedicated to providing an engaging and nuanced conference that empowers new ideas through educational collaboration and discourse.

Registration Timeline:

To make the registration process as smooth as possible and to reserve spaces, faculty Advisors should complete registration and payment on behalf of their students no later than January 22nd, 11:59 PM EST. The early-bird registration fee is $90.00 CAD per delegate, and full payment must be made at the time of registration unless you are paying by cheque. Regular registration fee is $110.00 CAD per delegate, and will open Jan. 23rd at 12:01 AM and close March 1st at 11:59 PM EST. The Secretariat will send out committee assignments by March 26th. 

Note, In the event that your school needs to change the number of registered delegates, we ask that you let us know immediately so that we can make those changes. Requests for additional delegate spots can be made by submitting the registration form again.
