Structure

SOMA is officially a legally autonomous entity. It is administered by the Secretariat, consisting of 7-9 high school students who are selected through a competitive application and interview process. Though not an official policy, applicants for Secretariat have traditionally come from the student body of the University of Toronto Schools (UTS).

SOMA is proud of its links with UTS, but is not formally associated with the school. As such, any decisions made by the Secretariat, including decisions on delegate applications, fees, and scheduling, are made entirely independently of UTS staff.
