Security Council (SC)**

The Security Council is responsible for maintaining international peace and security. Of the organization’s fifteen members, ten are elected by the General Assembly and serve limited terms, and five nations – China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States – are permanent members with veto power.

African Union (AU)

This international organization is dedicated towards the resolution of the continent’s conflicts as well as the promotion of democracy, human rights, and a sustainable economy.

European Union (EU)

The EU is a body of twenty-seven European states which can be characterized as both a supranational and intergovernmental organization. It maintains, for the most part, no border controls between members, and thirteen members share a common currency.

World Health Organization (WHO)

Organ of the United Nations tasked with coordinating global responses to health threats and concerns.

Association of South-East Asian Nations: Regional Forum (ASEAN-RF)

An organization composed of East Asian nations as well as regional powers, ASEAN-RF is tasked with discussing issues pertaining to South-East Asia. ASEAN's mandate includes social, political, and economic issues, and the organization is well-known for operating on the principles of consensus and non-interference.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

The body is responsible for promoting effective and responsible management of our global environment.

General Assembly: Disarmament and International Security (DISEC)

Debate in this General Assembly pertains to restricting the proliferation of weapons, from those of mass destruction to small arms, towards an ultimate objective of peace and security.

Economic and Social Council: General Summit (ECOSOC: GS)

The Summit is in charge of facilitating and improving global cooperation regarding economic and social issues.

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

UNICEF provides assistance for children and mothers in developing countries.

Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)

With member countries located around the world, the OIC convenes to discuss matters pertaining to Muslim states.

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)

NATO is a military alliance of democratic states in Europe and North America.

Human Rights Council (HRC)

The mandate of this Economic and Social Council is to monitor human rights situations in specific countries, as well as worldwide violations.

General Assembly: Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural (SOCHUM)

SOCHUM is the Assembly responsible for addressing specific human rights challenges and other important social development issues.

Special Committees

Historical Crisis

This year's historical crisis is the Spanish Civil War. The committee is composed of characters who played major roles in the War; delegates have been contacted via email with instructions on preparation.

Le Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés (UNHCR) -- Comité francophone

Le but premier de l'UNHCR est de sauvegarder les droits et le bien-être des réfugiés. L'agence s'efforce ainsi d'assurer pour tous le respect du droit à demander l'asile et à trouver refuge dans un autre État.
